Since January 2002 our Dobes have been maintained on a BARF diet.  BARF diets are homemade and comprise of fresh raw "human-grade" meat and bones, raw vegetables and fruits, plus supplements.

It's mine, all mine!

This is a diet consistent with what  food a wild canine would find in his natural environment.  A natural diet is rich in enzymes and nutrients that cannot be found in high-heat, extruded processed foods.  Natural diets also do not expose dogs to the chemicals, preservatives and colourings found in commercial processed foods.

Our dogs are fed on a diet which includes a variety of the following:

Chicken backs, wings and necks
Lamb breast
Mince beef, lamb, pork
Chicken liver
Beef heart
Sardines/Mackerel
Whole raw eggs
Natural yoghurt
Pulped vegetables & fruit

Supplements include:

Salmon Oil - Excellent source of Omega 3
Vitamin C - anti-oxident
Vitamin E - maintains healthy heart tissue/immune system and assists in wound healing
Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM - for healthy bones, joints, ligaments & cartilage

Since beginning this diet we have seen improvements in coat condition, muscle mass and tone, smaller and less frequent stools, cleaner teeth and increased energy.  This diet has also resulted in increased interest by the dog in their food - no more uneaten food here! :-)
